Monday, November 6, 2023 - A delegation from the National Agency for Investment and Exports (ANIE), led by Mr. Abdelkerim Idriss Deby, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ANIE, has embarked on a prospecting mission in Washington, the United States, to promote investment opportunities in Chad for the past week.

During this mission, the Chadian delegation had two key meetings on November 6, 2023 with two major financial institutions: the DFC US International Development Finance Corporation, led by Jesse Corradi, Managing Director for Africa, and Elizabeth Roberts, as well as the EXIM BANK, under the direction of Senior Vice President UFO, Eric Atuanya, Todd Benjamin, and Ms. Jalelah Ahmed. These meetings provided the Chadian delegation with crucial information about different financing options and the necessary steps to realize investment projects.

However, it is worth noting that concerning the EXIM BANK, whose director is appointed by the Senate upon the president's proposal, reservations remain. The Chadian delegation closely monitors the political situation in Chad, which could influence the final decision regarding the financing of projects by this institution.

This prospecting mission to the United States reflects Chad's commitment to attract foreign investments and create a favorable business environment. Fruitful exchanges with international financial institutions strengthen cooperation and pave the way for future investment opportunities that will be beneficial for Chad.

ANIE and the Chadian delegation will continue to work closely with international partners to promote investment opportunities in Chad, thereby contributing to the country's economic development.
