The Ambassador of Chad, H.E. KITOKO GATA, participated with distinction at the prestigious African Union Ambassadors Ball hosted by Her Excellency Hilda Suka-Mafudze, the Permanent Representative of the African Union Mission to the USA. This distinguished event took place in Washington D.C. on December 8, 2023, celebrating eminent figures within the Black community and honoring their exceptional contributions.

The program commenced with captivating performances by the Howard University Jazz Ensemble and the University of Maryland's Air Force ROTC Honor Guard. The event soared with the anthems of both the United States and the African Union before welcoming messages from Hon. Teta Banks of the World Federation of United Nations Associations and invocations.

The dinner, accompanied by the mesmerizing melodies of the Howard University Jazz Ensemble, set the stage for the evening's highlights, including the award presentations. Angelique Kidjo, Global Citizen Ambassador, received honors, as did Ambassador Susan Rice with the Kofi Annan Award, and Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala with the Mickey Leland Award. Stirring speeches by figures like Okechukwu Iweala, Randall Robinson, and Hon. Hazel Ross-Robinson captivated the audience, culminating in a keynote address by H.E. Hilda Suka Mafudze. The evening of prestige concluded with a toast by CHEVRON, intertwined with the uplifting melodies of the Howard University Jazz Ensemble, leaving a memorable imprint on all participants' minds.
